Our Therapists

Our approach to counseling is to work alongside each person in order to establish a strong therapeutic relationship which nurtures an environment of safety and trust.  Working collaboratively, we hope to help clients better understand how they experience the world from their unique point of view and personal experience.  We believe the goal of therapy is based on the needs of the client and we strive to assist in the process of initiating transformation, developing resilience, and fostering hope.

If you're looking for extra support and guidance through a challenging situation or you're just ready to move in a new direction in your life, we look forward to working with you to achieve your goals.

Please call or email for an individual, couples, or family therapy consultation today.

I am offering Telehealth video sessions.  No special software or setup, easy to use.

Anxiety, depression, anger, shame, trauma, hopelessness, despair; these are all human experiences
that can feel overwhelming, painful, and confusing. We often feel abandoned, rejected, and totally
disconnected from the people we love most. Other times we can experience relationships as
overbearing and frustrating. You do not have to carry these burdens alone. My approach to therapy
is to walk with you to help share, gain insight, organize, and find healing in these areas of your life.
There is hope and healing does exist. Therapy offers a place where you can move toward growth,
transformation, and change.

I have my degrees in psychology and counseling and continue to research and study in the science of
human behavior and relationships.  My theories are based on emotionally focused therapy, interpersonal
neurobiology, and intersubjective systems analysis.  I am also trained in spiritual integration when
requested by clients.  My philosophy is in counseling is to follow you, the client, and to be sure that
you are heard.  I tailor each session to your needs and with what works for you.  It is an honor to walk
with you on your journey toward healing and transformation!

Emily Henderson, MA, LPC

Licensed Professional Counselor

I hold a Master’s degree in Counseling and a Bachelor’s degree in Cognitive Science, both
from George Fox University. My counseling experience includes work with adolescents,
adults, couples, and families. Some of the issues that I am familiar with are anxiety, depression,
trauma, psychosis, grief and loss, life transitions, self-esteem, identity development, self-harm,
spiritual conflicts, and relationship challenges. I also offer services related to parenting. For
those interested in a more Christian pastoral form of counseling, I am equipped to work from
that perspective as well.

I like to ask myself one foundational question when I interact with new clients – What do these
people need to feel at peace with themselves, others, the world, and God? I work collaboratively
with my clients to achieve their goals, and that question about peace is always lingering in the
back of my mind. My aim is for clients to walk away with goals accomplished and lives bathed
in peace. Major theoretical frameworks that I use to guide our process include Intersubjectivity
Psychoanalysis, Interpersonal Neurobiology, Emotionally-Focused, Attachment-based, and
Narrative. I also include tools from Cognitive-Behavioral and Somatic theories. The heart of the
counseling process is a safe space and a secure relationship. From that foundation we explore,
chisel, and create the life you’re looking for.

Ana Gutierrez, MA, LPC

Licensed Professional Counselor

I am a bilingual therapist (Spanish) and hold a Master’s degree in Marriage and Family Therapy from Pacific Lutheran University. There are many challenges that we all face in life, but with the guidance of a professional, our relationships can become meaningful. I enjoy working with families, couples, individual adults, and children.

My main theoretical orientation in therapy includes a variety of systemic and relational models with a strong emphasis on Attachment based, Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, and Dialect Behavior Theory. I am also trained in Parent-Child Interaction Therapy (PCIT) and when working with children I like to use PCIT, which also works from an attachment theory.
